No deal! Microsoft announces they may no longer want Yahoo
Looks like Microsoft has done a 180 degree turn and now say they might be leaning towards backing out of the Yahoo purchase. Here's the Wall Street Journal article.
Look forward to a massive collapse in Yahoo's stock- it was around 19 bucks a share before Microsoft gave them the 31 dollar a share offer.
Jerry Yang- you blew it.
You know, this post more than any other has convinced me you're just some kid with no idea what you're talking about.
This is a pressure tactic from MS, nothing more. They can't just walk away that easily. This is just a stock standard thing to tell the press so the everyday stockholders get worried payday's going away .. MS is just jerking the toy mouse back from the cat a bit.
Standard tactics not just in corporate takeovers but in every type of negotiation. You've obviously never seen any. I was hoping for some good insider info on Google but your ignorant speculation on every topic *other* than insider google info is a waste of my time.
Unsubscribing now.

Oh wow, I had never considered that this was a pressure tactic from microsoft. Thanks for informing me! I had just assumed that everything that Google, Yahoo, and Microsoft say in their press releases is always the 100% honest truth.
I had never considered that businesses stretch the truth or bluff, until you posted those two messages.
The really fucking FUNNY part is that Yahoo shareholders are shitting their pants today because they know if MSFT does pull back the offer, their stock is going to drop 10 dollars a share instantly back to where it was before the offer was first made.
Sounds like you guys are scared. You hate microsoft, but you're afraid of the stock losses YHOO will suffer if they don't buy them. So conflicted, what to do?

gazzle,
considering Google is the company trying to break up the MSFT/YHOO merger, i think it is worthy of posts.

Google are not doing that. Google are HAVING FUN!!! At Ballmer's expense...you know the guy who said he was gonna bury Google?
Seriously, are you retarded?

Geez *shakes head* sorry but I must concur with gazzle...what does this have to do with Google? Wouldn't that be anyone's impression...how about a first-time reader, he or she may think they stumbled upon the wrong site and wonder where the one about Google is. Yes, you tied in what it has to do with Google very nicely in your comment above *but you need to do that in the post* or else change the name of this site to fuckedstocktrader.com or something - I'll read it, and I bet a lot of other people will, too.
While I'm at it, and I hate doing this because I've always enjoyed your blog, I might as well add that publishing a post last week suggesting Googlers lost their jobs over tips given here wasn't the finest move you ever made because the tipsters went running away over it - perhaps in fear of their jobs...or at least that's what I assume they've done since you don't publish anything from them that's too insider-y since then.
Personally? I would have let them keep on getting fired...if they're too stupid to not use GMail that's their problem - not yours.
To conclude this, I think I miss the posts about clickfraud, advertising, insider stock trading and other inside-Google minutiae a whole lot. The tipsters can go whistle Dixie and Yahoo can go sell itself on Craiglist - it's immaterial to me. Unless any of that ties in very obviously to some Google-related bit of fodder, that is. I want more about Google, period.
I know this has been piling on a bit but I've been not saying all this for a week and you know how I get when I'm not saying something...its got to come out somewhere. Which reminds me: parpisnooble can eat me. He is an irritating clown. He makes some of the trolls you've had here in the past look like great folks.

Guess this prediction came true- microsoft just announced they are walking away from the Yahoo merger.
Look for a nice collapse in YHOO come money.

Yeah, but you didn't know it at the time, nearly two weeks ago. After you made this 'prediction', MSFT and YHOO were still talking to each other and to other parties, and continued to up until Saturday. Ballmer realised that all arund him, everybody, was saying what a poor deal it was. His attitude totally changed on Friday's Town Hall call.
Even a stopped clock is right twice a day.
